What I Am Listening To

Podcasts

  • How I Built This with Guy Raz (NPR) — This amazing piece of work is all about the builders, the people who have the drive to create and make things. If there was a narrative of stories that align with our philosophy in our books, this would be it. These are the people who have overcome obstacles, managed crises, and had the drive to make things happen. Some of the stories are the one in a million, but others cast a true light on the messy process of bringing ideas and products to life.
  • Y Combinator — This is another goodie. Some of the stories and anecdotes are great on a whole breadth of topics from new media and digital through art and business. Still, when I’m low on time I find myself listening to Guy’s podcast over this one.
  • Masters of Scale with Reid Hoffman — Last but not least on my current list, this had to go on here because of the initial interview of Brian Chesky, Co-Founder of AirBnB. I believe the AirBnB story is one of the best examples of what it takes to bring a great product to life.
